Travelling by Buses and Trains
Lydiate Parish Hall is accessible by Public Transport from a variety of directions, but the last leg of the journey will be on Arriva bus number 300 which runs between Southport and Liverpool or on Merseytravel bus 231 operated by Ace Travel which follows a circular route from Liverpool Central via Lydiate and Maghull. The bus stop you will need if you travel on the 300 is at the Scotch Piper Inn, a hundred yards or so up the road from the Parish Hall, or at the Weld Blundell Arms, around 600 yards from the Hall, if you travel on the 231.
If you would like to see exactly where the buses run, click on the ROUTE MAP logo, and a .pdf map will appear in a new window. If you know all about the routes and simply need a timetable, click on the relevant TIME TABLE and a .pdf file of the time table will appear. You can print off either of these, or save them, as you wish.
The 300 runs hourly on Sundays, so please ensure that you will arrive in time to start the walk! The 231 operates every 30 minutes.
If you need more detailed directions for using Public Transport, Traveline offers
a door-
Type in a postcode or other detail for ‘From’ and type in L31 4EQ in the ‘To’ box. You will be asked to select an address; choose the entry ‘Parish Hall Trustees’ and you will be all set.
